Exeter combines the world of art, theatre and music with a variety of arts venues and independent theatres such as the Barnfield, Northcott Theatre, Phoenix Arts Centre, Lemon Grove and Corn Exchange. Exeter has had its fair share of music related enterprises crop up over the years too, such as Mansons Guitar Works, who make guitars for (amongst others) Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Mikey Demus (Skindred). There’s always something new, exciting and a little bit weird to see in Exeter!
Exeter has always been a historic and cultural hub – but in 2019 the Cathedral City is truly coming into its own, new quirky bars and cafes opening left, right and centre make Exeter a fun and vibrant city to explore throughout the year. Being so close to the countryside means that real muddy-festivals are only a short hop away – Beautiful Days (run by the Levellers) is set in the stunning Escot Park, and happens every year as well as the cheerful Chagstock Music Festival in the heart of the moors
