Swindon graduate George Christie has been telling us of his recent work with UK band The Miscreants which then led to an unforgettable trip to LA to work with Heavy Metal record label Mediaskare and their band Bermuda. “During September, I was hired by a band called Miscreants to co-write, produce and track their EP. The band then initiated a mixing competition on several audio forums, with the aim of finding a suitable mixing and mastering engineer”. “Kevin Newland (Chango Studios, 456 Recordings) ultimately landed the place”. “But the contest was greeted with a ton of positive feedback and American heavy metal label Mediaskare became aware of my work with the band and contacted me”. This is not like playing bingo games such as foxy bingo games this is different. “The material was then passed along to various bands on their label and I was soon contacted by Mike Levine of Bermuda, who offered me the opportunity to co-write and produce their sophomore album”. “The band also offered an all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles to allow me to be present during the album’s recording”. “Bermuda are recording at Echelon Studios in Los Angeles (owned and operated by Justin Gilbert of As I Lay Dying) and the band are set to embark on several European and American tours in the new year”. “So that’s the gist of it! I’m still in shock in all honesty”. Best wishes George.
