All the information you will need to know when applying for one of our Further Education courses.

How to apply.

All students need to attend their local Academy of Music and Sound centre for a playing assessment and interview with our management team. All candidates are required to have GCSE Maths and English to grade 4/C or above and have the relevant level of instrument ability, which can be demonstrated during the assessment.
A decision regarding suitability is often given on the day of assessment and a conditional place on the course offered. Our staff can then help you complete the application process there and then if you wish.
If a student doesn’t initially have the relevant level of instrument knowledge and ability, they can be re-assessed at any time before the start of the course.

Our Further Education courses are free-of-charge to any 16-18 year old students, if they haven’t completed the same level course anywhere previously. There are costs for students who are 19 and over. These charges do vary depending on a student’s personal circumstances and it is advised that you discuss your position with a member of our staff to confirm your position.

Progression can be into employment , industry training or onto Higher Education courses.
All of our F.E courses carry UCAS points that can be carried forward to help you apply for University/ higher education courses. (HNC/HND, Foundation degree, Degree, B.A.Top-up), this includes all of our H.E courses and many from other universities and colleges.
